Calico Cat Cupboards & Antiques: The New Kid On The Block

While I was strolling on Main Street today, I stumbled upon a new store: Calico Cat Cupboards & Antiques. The window displays looked inviting, and I ventured in. The owner, Tami McMann greeted me with a smile and offered me a cup of cocoa and some home-made cookies. Needless to say, I loved her right away!

Tami said she has always loved old furniture and objects, ever since she was a little girl and her mom used to take her to various antique stores. Following her passion, five years ago she opened Calico Cat Antiques in Union. After participating in the Fall Festival of the Arts and Crafts in Washington this year, Tami and her husband decided it is time to expand the business.

Main Street has acquired something old and something new: Calico Cat Cupboards & Antiques opened its doors Thursday, Dec. 1

The owner, Tami McMann, said they chose downtown Washington because it is a welcoming and positive place

Why "Calico Cat"? Tami named the store in honour of Petunia - a much-loved calico cat she had

Calico Cat has a charming collection of antiques carrying memories of times gone by

If you can't find the right kind of furniture for your space, Tami and her husband can hand-craft it. Their unique pieces made out of barn wood and reclaimed antique doors were a huge success at the Fall Festival of the Arts and Crafts
