I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too: A Delicious Stop On The Riverfront

I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too is located on 100 West Front Street and has a beautiful river view. The store has been in business for over 20 years under the management of Margaret Horn. When she decided to retire this year, two beautiful ladies, mother and daughter Barbara Hillermann and Kristy Stoyer, took over. They have preserved the overall look of the shop, but they have also introduced some new things. UPDATE: THE STORE MOVED TO 200 ELM STREET.

I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too specializes in gourmet foods including nuts, chocolate, dips, salsa, jellies, teas and more. They have everything you need to impress your guests at your next party!

The nuts, of course, are their specialty. However, this is not the only thing that makes the store unique.

What makes I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too unique is their creative baskets. Customers can come to the store and pick out goodies to be put in a basket, and they can even include their own items . The mother and daughter teams has created everything from $300 baskets full of alcohol, to a wheelbarrow loaded with items for an auction.

Barb and Kristy love working with what people bring in or pick out and transforming it into a beautiful basket. They do not let any baskets leave the store until they are perfect, even if that means staying after hours. Judging by their overwhelming amount of orders, I think the customers appreciate their wonderful work!

The store also offers a selection of Missouri wines and hostess gifts. All of I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too products can be made into beautiful baskets for gifts and shipped anywhere. If you are a Washington resident, the ladies will deliver your basket for free!

When I asked Kristy and Barb what do they love about their downtown location, this is what they said: “The people. We love talking to our customers and hearing their stories. We enjoy seeing the familiar faces but also get to meet a lot of tourists who come to Washington to experience the small town feeling and shop at our wonderful downtown stores. We have a great community and we would not have the wonderful downtown atmosphere we do without the support of our customers.”

I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too has a New Year’s surprise for you! In January they will be bringing back The Washington Route! This is a delivery service catering to local business on designated days and supplying delicious treats to them. If businesses want to get back on the route they can reach the store at info@ib-nuts.com.

Too many options to choose from? This is what Barb recommended. The bag is almost gone… Need I say more? 😉

One of the owners, Barb Hillermann is happy to welcome you to the store. I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too eagerly awaits you! Did I mention they have samples, too? 🙂

  1. Kristy helped me find the CUTEST gift basket to send to my sister on her 40th! My sister loves dogs so the container was black and white with paw prints, filled with yummy snacks plus some toys for the dogs. So darling and so perfect! IB Nuts creates the very best gift baskets!!!!!!!!!
