Although we went to the Post Office Stomp last night and we didn’t go to bed until 2 a.m., I was up with the rising of the sun. Since I couldn’t go back to sleep, I decided that the only reasonable thing to do on a sunny morning like this was to go for a walk. I’ve always loved watching cities wake up, there’s a quietness and stillness that get lost in the middle of the day.
Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow.
~Henry David Thoreau
Nothing compares to the energy of morning light!
The Downtown Post Office looks beautiful in the sunshine.
I've always loved that sign.
The Riverfront Trail was my goal. Some mornings you just need to go out there and walk.
It was nice to know that I wasn't the only one up that early on a Sunday.
A walk is not complete without a picture of the bridge. Wouldn't it be nice if they kept it as a walking bridge when they built the new one? One can only dream.
Nothing better than listening to music, while walking on the trail with the sun shining in your face.
The bridge from the other side. Sometimes all you need is a different perspective.
Did you know that morning light makes your legs really long? Just a fun fact 😉 Have a great Sunday, everyone!
A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world.
~Paul Dudley White
P.S. No editing was done to any of the photos above – it’s just the magic of morning light.
