If you are walking down Elm Street, you are bound to pass by Bubba’s Shrimp. Fresh seafood in the middle of Missouri is unusual, but so nice! The store has been in business for four years, and what started as just a seafood market, is now a place to eat sushi and gumbo, too!
Bubba’s Shrimp is a seafood market right in the middle of downtown Washington, which sells wild caught shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico.
They also have many kinds of fish, scallops, mussels, clams, calamari, crab, clam strips, and even alligator meat!
Let’s not forget the seashells 🙂
Bubba’s Shrimp also serves lunch!! You can get soup or gumbo, yellowfin tuna salad and crab salad. On Fridays and Saturdays they have grilled and fried fish, grilled or fried shrimp, crab cakes and clam strips.
One thing Bubba’s Shrimp is known for is their sushi. They offer sixteen types of sushi rolls, Thursday through Saturday. Sandy Atkinson, the owner, is a professional sushi chef.
When you enter the store, it feels like being on the beach! And this is what makes Bubba’s Shrimp Unique: being a seafood market in the middle of Missouri.
Gulf Shrimp always looks and sounds good!!
If you are not sure how to prepare seafood, they always have recipes at hand 😉
I told you it’s like being on the beach 😉
What the owners, Jim and Sandy Atkinson, love about being located in downtown Washington is “being close to the “action” of downtown, the parades that come by our store, farmer’s market, and special downtown events like the Fine Arts Festival and the Craft Festival. But foremost we enjoy visiting with our neighbors and customers. Our regulars begin to feel like family.”
