We went to Falmouth, Jamaica last November, and I loved it! It’s warm and colorful, friendly and inviting, laid-back and easy-going. We spent the first part of the day at Dunn’s River Falls, “a famous waterfall near Ocho Rios, and a major Caribbean tourist attraction that attracts thousands of visitors each year.” We did not climb the Falls, we watched others do it, while sipping the world-famous Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. Then we had some jerk chicken for lunch in Mama Marley restaurant. After that we hopped on a trolley and took a ride across town, to see what was around. I had my camera on my hip, snapping pictures as we moved along the streets. Take a glimpse at some of the photos from our trip below.
“If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home.” – James Michener
“When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.” – Clifton Fadiman
