RiverCity Music: In Tune With Downtown Life

Have you been to “RiverCity Music” on Jefferson? I went there for the first time two weeks ago and I loved it! I can’t play any musical instrument and I am not much of a singer, but I do enjoy good music.

“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent”

Victor Hugo

When I walked in the store, these two guys were playing in the corner. I just loved that!

RiverCity Music is a small family owned business, serving the greater Franklin County area. In the store you can find musical instruments, accessories, gift items, sheet music, and pro audio. They also offer private and group instruction, orchestra rentals, and instrument repair.

Meet the owners - Chris & Lisa Brough. Chris has been in the music industry for twelve years. He started playing drums when he was seven years old, then taught himself guitar, and has loved music ever since, playing with several different bands over the years. Photo: Chris and Lisa Brough.

The store has been in business since 2008, and it enjoys quite the popularity around the area. I really liked the shiny guitars.

They have beautiful violins, too.

Aren’t these fun? 🙂

And every little boy's dream - drums!

RiverCity Music's goal is to introduce music to people of all ages and help them grow in music education and appreciation as well as the whole music experience.

I was drawn to the Van Gough...

So many guitars to choose from...

Wouldn't you agree that music makes for a better world? 🙂
