The New HOT SPOT: Big Boy’s Grilled Subs & Wings

Guess where I was last night? I got invited to dinner at the newest restaurant in town! Big Boy’s Grilled Subs & Wings opens on Monday, and I can assure you that the food is delicious!! Their Facebook page already has more than 300 fans, and everybody is anxiously waiting to get their name on the Wall of Flame! Do you want a sneak peek? OK, you convinced me.

Located on 919 Jefferson St., Big Boys Grilled Subs & Wings is bound to attract a crowd on Monday when they officially open.

Who is behind Big Boys Grilled Subs & Wings? Meet Mike & Lenny Aiello, who are twins and know how to make food taste good! They have over twenty years each in the food service business and they have done everything - from dishwasher to general manager.

Mike and Lenny developed their love and passion for cooking by watching their grandmothers cook since they were very young. From that love and passion to cook their desire has grown over the years to open their own restaurant. The mock night was mostly for family and friends, and everybody was excited to eat some delicious food.

More people coming in...

The kids menu is already ready.

Everybody is anxiously waiting for their order to arrive. Did I mention that Big Boys Grilled Subs & Wings is non smoking? ;-)

Back in the kitchen, work is at full swing!

The Grilled Subs look temptingly good. I counted 20 different kinds on the menu. How about a "Hard Core Albacore Tuna Melt" or "The Monster Dog"? I bet you can't wait to try them!

Of course, everybody was after the Kick'n Chick'n Wings! Big Boys Grilled Subs & Wings have twelve different sauce flavorings for their chicken wings, which they claim to be the best in town.

How do you get on the "Wall of Flame"? You need to do The Blindside Challenge, named like that because it hits you when you’re not looking. Can you eat twelve of the hottest wings in less than ten minutes?

This brave man can. Jeff Grus Finished the Blind Side Challenge in 7min 48 sec. His name will go on the WALL OF FLAME!!!!!

More from the kitchen. Five Meat Pizza. It speaks for itself.

Back to the grilled subs. They are cooked to order and served on hot fresh French bread.

My friend Leslie from 365 Things To Do in Franklin County and her husband, trying to decide what to order - everything on the menu looks so good!

Leslie and Kevin really loved the Loaded Fries. Did you know that the size of the French Fries matters? If they are too skinny, they get cool by the time they are served. I told you that Mike and Lenny know a lot about food!

This is what I got - a gyro. It was very delicious! They have Mediterranean Pizza and Greek Salad, too.

Study this well, so you know what to get on Monday. Some more good news! Big Boys Grilled Subs & Wings have joined Downtown Washington Inc. and they are planning on participating in one of their Sunset on Riverfront nights.

When you go to Big Boy's Grilled Subs & Wings, enjoy the delicious food and make sure to take a look at the pictures on the walls ;-)

Big Boys Grilled Subs & Wings is located on 919 Jefferson St. in Washington, MO 63090. You can reach them at 636-239-SUBS (7827). Visit their Facebook page here. The restaurant officially opens on Monday, April 23, and you can dine in, pick a sub on the go, or have wings delivered at your home/office.

  1. Loved your article. Those are my nephews and my mother is one of the grandmothers that they learned to cook from. THEY USED TO COME OVER MY HOUSE EVERY FEW WEEKENDS WITH THEIR BROTHER christian to hang out. Being Italian, of course there was a lot of cooking going on. THEY ARE GREAT COOKS. My son is also a chef and learned from my mother and his other grandmother. So I guess it runs in the family. I still live back in Boston, so I can’t be there for the opening, but we will be down there soon to visit and of course to come and eat at Big Boys Grilled Subs and Wings!!!
