The Tannebaum Auction: Walking Christmas Trees for a Good Cause

Have you seen the walking “live” Christmas Trees around town? Wondering what this is all about? For the fourth year in a row The Homestead at Hickory View will be hosting its Annual Tannenbaum Auction for the 2012 Holiday Season. All proceeds from the Auction and ticket sales to The Celebration will go directly to the “Friends of Emmaus”, a not for profit organization created to support residents at the Emmaus Home on the Marthasville Campus. The proceeds will go towards purchasing two vans with lifts for the residents.Being part of the Tannenbaum Auction is a great way to decorate your office or home and provide much needed support to the Friends of Emmaus.

This year The Tannenbaum Auction will exceed 150 entries.  The donated and decorated trees, topiaries, wreaths, centerpieces and “Can’t Live Without It” specialty items will be available for viewing at the Homestead at Hickory View, 1481 Marbach, Washington, Mo. or on-line at www.tannenbaumauction.com. Silent bids will be accepted with the bids closing on November 15th.  All entries will be judged with winners announced at the Awards Party on Thursday, November 8th. The winning entries and all trees will then go to the Public Auction on November 15 at 8:30 P.M. The Celebration, as the Homestead calls it, gives you the opportunity to view and bid on auction items while you snack on awesome appetizers and beverages donated by local restaurants and listen to great music. A special performance by Elvis a.k.a. Steve Davis is just one highlight of The Celebration.

Purchase your ticket from one of the traveling “Human” Tannenbaum Trees or at the Homestead at Hickory View. Tickets:  $20 in advance $25 at the door and is all-inclusive.  The trees will be at various civic events or around the streets of Washington. Keep your eyes open and meet them in person!  (Photo: The Homestead)
