It’s not every day that you get an offer for a zenervention treatment. So, when I did, I grabbed the opportunity right away. I met Dale Lintzenich on a Friday at the Washington Healing Arts Center and I liked her right away. Her Zenervention treatment sounded like a great opportunity to relax and think about nothing for a bit. I was in her hands for an hour and a half, and I dozed off a couple of times. The thing that amazed me the most, is how energy was reflected from my body, making her hands really hot or cold, depending on what was needed. I left the Healing Arts Center feeling relaxed and energized, and ready for the busy weekend ahead of me. Read more about Dale and Zenervention in the interview below.
Introduce yourself and what you do.
My name is Dale Lintzenich. I am a retired psychiatric nurse, with 35 years in the field. I am also a Reiki Master, and I am trained in several complementary healing modalities; including Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, Healing Touch, Chakra Balancing, and Eden Energy Medicine.
What sparkled your interest in using energy for healing?
I think I first realized I was interested in energy healing back in the 1980’s. When I worked at the hospital, we used to give backrubs to patients every night before bed. One night, while rubbing a patient’s back, I realized that healing energy was being transferred through my hands; that healing was more than medicine, or a surgery, or a medical treatment. After that, I went into psychiatric nursing, because I wanted to deal more with the mind/body connection. I saw depressed people usually have lots of physical symptoms, as well. I loved teaching my patients about that connection. I understand the “allopathic” component of dis-ease. Allopathic Medicine has traditionally viewed the human body as a machine–if something is broken or not working particular well, oil it, patch it up, cut it out or replace it altogether. Complementary Medicine views people differently; as mental and emotional, as well as, physical beings. As a retired nurse, I believe that there is a need for both Allopathic and Complementary Medicines, and they can complement each other.
It wasn’t until the year 2000 that I took my first Reiki level. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction that also promotes healing. It is now offered in several hospitals to help reduce patient stress, decrease the amount of pain medication required, improve sleep and appetite, and accelerate the healing process. In fact, Dr. Oz uses a Reiki Master in his OR! Reiki helps bring about deep relaxation, reduce energy blockages, detoxify the system and increase the vibration frequency of the body, thus helping the body to help itself. Reiki is applied by light pressure, or without touching, and the energy is guided by the Higher Power. Thus, it can do no harm. I completed my Reiki Mastery in 2008 and can now attune others to this healing modality.
What is Zenervention?
My “Zenervention” treatment combines several modalities in a 90 minute session. It is deeply relaxing and specifically helps decrease stress and anxiety and brings the client into a state of “zen”. The modalities used include Reiki, Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy and Eden Energy Medicine (specifically the “Black Pearl Sanctuary”).
The “Black Pearl Sanctuary” an EEM technique, specifically calms the triple warmer meridian. (The Triple Warmer is concerned with threats to the homeostasis of the system. It’s primary goal is to maintain balance and create an environment wherein you are safe. It doesn’t matter if the stress is external or internal, real or imagined. If Triple Warmer perceives a threat it goes into action. Whenever you experience the famous “fight or flight response,” Triple Warmer is the meridian that goes into action, conscripting energy from other meridians to give you the edge you need to either stand and fight, or turn and run. An overactive Triple Warmer is usually responsible for anxiety)
If a client is experiencing anxiety, there are other Eden Energy Medicine techniques that can be done at home. These techniques will involve sedating the triple warmer meridian.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tension deep in the body (the central nervous system) to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch which is general no great than 5 grams-about the weight of a nickel-practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.
In my practice, I have found CST to be very effective in the treatment of headaches, backaches, neck or shoulder pain, and TMJ. Changes can be immediate, or take a few “tweaking” sessions. The client is fully clothed and may feel warmth or pulsing in the areas being treated, or just deep relaxation.
Reflexology is working the “reflex” areas of the feet, which affect the nervous, lymphatic, circulatory and sensory systems. A deposit located on a reflex impedes flow. Lessening the deposits in the feet improves health and well-being. Your reflexology session begins with foot cleansing with a warm, soft washcloth. I then give you a full reflexology session, and we deal with any issues that come up (such as a tender spot that “reflects” to a specific area of the body). Your session is topped off with a wonderful foot and ankle massage using warm scented, or unscented lotion. Most clients find these sessions deeply relaxing.
Of course, I can do individual therapies, such as 60 minutes of Reflexology, or Craniosacral Therapy alone.
My favorite thing is to fine tune a client’s session, usually using combination of modalities specific to that client’s need at the time.
Who can benefot from your treatments?
Pretty much everyone can benefit from energy work. An important part of my job is to help my clients find peace and emotional calm during the course of their treatment. I believe that energy work helps lift a person above themselves, so they are able to see everything from a new perspective. I love teaching my clients about their bodies and giving them tips to help them after they leave the session.
Another thing I love to do is work with clients that are either getting ready for surgery, or going through some sort of medical treatment. Because I’m a nurse, I understand what is happening to the body, and the healing modalities I use “complement” the medical treatments.
