My First Crystal & Gemstone Therapy Experience: A Relaxing Bliss

As some of you might know, I am a big fan of The Washington Healing Arts Center. I go there for yoga with Elaine Blackmur every Friday morning (8:30-9:45am), and I have tried the CanioSacral Therapy with Julie, Zenervention with Dale, and Hypnotherapy with Yael. Last Friday I had the pleasure of experiencing for the first time the Crystal & Gemstone Therapy Beth Benton-Quick offers! Here is a short interview with Beth about what she does!

Meet Beth. She is young and sweet and she can heal you using crystals and gems - a much more natural way of healing.

What sparkled your interest in crystal & gemstone therapy?

My interest in crystal and gem therapy started when my youngest daughter was wrongly diagnosed with ADHD.  As a young mom, when I was told my daughter had ADHD and needed to take medicine, I believed that. We started treatment which lead to side effect after side effect.  After a while, I had to take her to talk to a therapist because she had developed an eating disorder.  My therapist recommended to see an herbalist for a second evaluation.  After the evaluation, it turned out that she did not have ADHD at all, she had an esophagus disorder. We began treatment right away, weaning her off the medicine and switching to herbs for two weeks.  The treatment however wasn’t covered by insurance, that’s why I began my search for alternative healing. I ran across a wonderful woman, Deborah Ann Bourbon, who was teaching classes on crystal and gem therapy. From there my interest grew. I began treatment on my daughter shortly after being certified and we are astonished at what great success we have had. We did treatment with a gem named amber every day for 5 minutes for about three months. My daughter has fully recovered and is now on A, B honor roll (with no medicine.)

Beth uses a variety of crystals in her sessions, depending on what kind of healing does the client need.

Beth uses a variety of crystals in her sessions, depending on what kind of healing does the client need. All of them have pretty colors and healing powers.

What does a session with you look/feel like?

For Crystal and Gem Therapy, the patient lies fully-clothed on a comfortable massage table. There is no oil and no traditional massage strokes used. Crystal and Gem Therapy is the art of laying stones. Healers place stones on their clients reclined bodies in order to balance the chakras and aura. Your therapist selects stones to resonate with the specific energies needed to open the chakras. This allows the body to naturally heal.  Clients say they leave with a new sense of well-being, happiness and joy.

My appointment with Beth was right after yoga, so I was in my comfy clothes and just laid on the table and let Beth work with the crystals. Some of them she just held above me, others she placed on different parts of my body. It was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep a couple of times. Hence, no other pictures from the session.

Can anybody benefit from the crystal & gemstone therapy?

Yes, anyone can benefit from crystal and gem therapy. Such sessions can be used to simply align the chakras giving the patient a sense of well-being and joy or also for physical, emotional and mental illness. Crystal and gem therapy can be a great adjunctive along with other healing modalities, helping to ease the pain and speed up the healing process.

How do you know which crystals & gemstones to use?

Choosing crystals comes with knowledge of their healing abilities and most of all instincts. They can be beneficial for relieving discomfort and pain, supporting the recovery process, renewing strength, improving sleep, and uplifting the spirit.

Does crystal & gemstone therapy interfere with medications people might be taking?

Crystal and Gem Therapy does not interfere with medicines. The purpose of crystal and gem therapy is to heal. Compared to medicine, where you constantly have to up the dosage over time, crystals and gems build up and repair the cause of illness so you no longer need the treatment. That’s what I love about this method of healing.

I've been keeping some crystals on my desk which are supposed to help with the negative effects from sitting in front of the screen all day. Between that and my frequent chocolate-tea-coffee breaks I've been feeling really good :-)

Share some cases where you have seen the benefits of crystal & gemstone therapy.

I have seen much success in the healing abilities of crystals and gems in my own life and also those around me. When my son was hospitalized at St. Joe I started volunteering. I can’t tell you how many times the nurses would pull me aside to find out what sort of treatment I was doing. In fact, one nurse came to me one day after being off work to tell me that she could see a tremendous improvement after each of my visits.  With persistence, I have seen gems help with many different addiction issues. On a physical note to those of you who are familiar with gout and know how painful it can be: I have seen success with Malachite and this is with just carrying the stone, no treatment needed.  There is really no limit to what these precious gems and crystals can do. A friend of mine was able to prolong his mother’s brain cancer by seven years, yes – seven years.! Crystals and gems are our friends and want to help –  all we have to do is be open and allow the healing to transform us in all areas of life.

{On a side note, Beth and I did a general crystal and gemstone session, and after that I felt energized and ready to do things! I definitely recommend experiencing this!}

  1. Very informative article about crystal therapy. Crystal Therapy is basically a alternative medicine technique which uses crystals and stones for healing the patient without medicines. Crystals are placed on particular parts of body called chakras. Chakras are the energy points in human body placed at plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves. Each chakra is corresponding to a different color. During Crystal therapy we place the crystal of associated color on particular Chakra. Crystals are placed to create an “energy Grid” in body which helps to cure diseases.
