We are lucky to have so many amazing festivals downtown! Downtown Washington Inc. takes care of keeping us entertained and making the downtown area thrive with life. This weekend we enjoyed the 33rd Annual Art Fair & Winefest: lots of amazing art, delicious food, great wine and good friends. Here is a selection on the happenings on Friday, May 16th.
The artists were lined down Main Street, all set up and ready to delight the customers.
There was a lot to chose from.
Beautiful hand-made jewelry.
Different colors, shapes, and sizes…
Pretty and quite fitting.
A true work of art.
More gorgeous jewelry by Allison L. Norfleet Bruenger Collections – Jewelry and Mixed Media.
I love Allison’s work.
So much talent.
Gorgeous scarves and jackets made with recycled kimonos.
Beautiful abstract art.
Another favorite of mine.
Local artist Jim Peters and his stunning watercolors.
Stunning colors and shapes.
Jewelry is always hard to resist.
Wonderful wild life photographs.
Delicious jelly and relishes made in the heart of Washington.
Gourmet spices and mixes.
Local cow’s milk cheese – tasting is always fun.
Just a random street shot.
After browsing through the art and leaving with some treasures, it’s time for some food and wine tasting.
The pork burgers never disappoint.
Wine is sold by the bottle or by the glass.
Both food and wine can be enjoyed paired with music under the entertainment tent.
And why not take a free souvenir photo with Foto Snap Fotobooth? 🙂
Not sure which wine is your favorite?
These two are ahead of the game… 😉
This is how it’s done: art and wine in one! (Do you recognize the photo on the tote? You can get yours at I.B. Nuts & fruit Too ;-))
But don’t worry if you don’t know what you like: you can taste wine from some of the area’s best wineries and you get a souvenir glass with your ticket.
It’s nice to mingle with friends under the Farmers’ Market pavilion.
Wine tasting is also a great opportunity to make new friends.
Girl’s night out is always a great idea.
Tasting and catching up.
Complimentary cheese is provided 🙂
So many wines to try.
Once you find the wine you love, you can always go back for more to the winery.
Everybody is having so much fun!
These wonderful people are part of the committee that makes the whole event possible.
Some of the awesome volunteers who help out every year. Amy and Nick both have amazing blue eyes.
The new banners downtown.
Not a wine lover? There’s beer 😉
What makes Art Fair & Winefest even better is that it’s held downtown.
Beautiful historic buildings, delicious food, wonderful art, great music, yummy wine, making new friends, catching up with old friends and having fun. Make sure you mark your calendars for next year!
