Now Downtown: Elements of Health Therapeutic Massage

Every time I go for a massage I tell myself I should do it more often, and then a year passes and I still haven’t gone again. However, how we have no excuse since we have Elements of Health Therapeutic Massage downtown! I met up with the owner, Jackie Wehmeyer, on Thursday – interview and pictures below!

How did you decide to open Elements of Health Therapeutic Massage?

I have had my own Massage Therapy business for a while and always wanted to be downtown, but never found the right space.  When this space became available I knew it was the right move for me.

Quaint and pretty on the outside, and cozy and relaxing on the inside, Elements of Health is a perfect downtown addition!

What sparkled your interest in massage?

I actually worked in this space in high school as a receptionist when it was Moments of Serenity, and that is when I became familiar with Massage Therapy and its great health benefits.

I was excited to be greeted by one of my own bridge prints at the entrance! Needless to say, I love Jackie's decorating style!

What are the services you offer?

With four different Massage Therapists, we offer an array of diverse modalities.  Some of those include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Hot Stone and Prenatal massage.  Also, all of our therapists accept Parker Hannifin CAM insurance.

Why downtown Washington?

I chose downtown Washington for the location of my business because I love the calming, laid back feel of downtown. Our space has a rustic charm that can only be found downtown. The comradery between the businesses downtown has also been great.

Yes, I know, you want to go there right now. However, massages are by appointment only :-)
